Cooking for me has been challenge. This is so because there are certain things I try to accomodate or not include in my dinners.
What things do I try include in my dinners
Vegetables – The more colorful is your dinner plate the better. With finicky children cutting the veggies small has helped me tremendously to encourage them to eat the food.
Fish – We eat all types of fish, except for salmon. I am following the Swank diet. They suggests to not eat salmon during the first year of the diet.
Herbs – Turmeric, cumin, and garlic are some of the herbs I try to use to season my meals.
Take plant based iron supplements. One of the problems to not eating meat any longer is the iron levels, especially with the ladies.
What things do I not eat or include
Meat – During the first year of the Swank diet not meat except for fish is allowable. Remember meats are #1 on fat. To keep the 20 g of fat Swank diet I found just eliminating the meat was for me a great way to keep up with the diet.
